Hi SOUL Hi! Lovianhal!
How you? I’m glad you’re here. I’m here too! I love you.
I had this vision.
I woke up this morning with it on my mind. I keep seeing this blue flame, like a campfire on a beach and gorgeous people sitting around it. The gorgeous people are smiling. The air is warm. The beach is balmy. The clearest turquoise of the water by day, has given way to the inky pitch of the night. There are billions of the brightest stars twinkling in the sky. The gorgeous people are wearing loose fitting sweatshirts with some formation of letters sprawled across it. The letters, too, sparkle because the blue flame likes to make things twinkle. Their clothes aren’t uniforms, per say. These aren’t college students–not in the way we think of them anyway. The ages of the gorgeous people are all over the place. Their ethnicities are every one you can think of. This group is together for a common reason or purpose.
The gorgeous people sitting around this blue campfire aren’t trading ghost stories. They are singing a song. The melody is distinct. Somebody is playing a guitar. Somebody else is thumbing a bongo-like drum. The gorgeous people are swaying and singing just one word– Alkebulan. The gorgeous people seem to be in a trance singing this one word over and again, but it’s a whole song and it’s a whole vibe. And as they continue to sing, what I initially thought was a half a dozen people around a relatively small flame, has become hundreds of thousands, and potentially hundreds of millions of people singing around a bonfire the size of a small planet. The gorgeous people are swaying and singing, their different colored sweatshirts looking like multi-colored waves in the ocean– they are the ocean. They are the blue flame. They are the balmy breeze. They are the song. Alkebulan rings in and through the air, taking over the collective imagination as the only thing worth doing. The only place worth being.
I’d like to say that I understand this vision. That everything I need to know is all there from blue flame to sweatshirt. And yet, I do not. Anyone who has experience with visions knows that
anything one might think one sees
ain’t always
what one thinks one sees. So there’s that.
Meanwhile, I have the Alkebulan song in my head. I’ll presume you’ll have to tune in tonight to hear how it goes. Also, Alkebulan is the original name of Africa before the colonizers colonized. It means The Garden of Eden. In essence, Mother of Humanity…
What I will say about this is that the current times are pulling at my threads. Sometimes I feel like I am completely unraveling–nothing left to see here! And at other times I feel like I am emerging– as something/someone else entirely. The ripping away and revealing process is both disconcerting and empowering.
Is this what it feels like to emerge from a chrysalis???
For giggles, I looked up “blue flame meaning” on Harriet Tubman’s interwebs: This is what Soulful Creature says it means:
“In a Nutshell
- Blue flame symbolizes spiritual awakening, representing a transition to higher consciousness and liberation from self-doubt and fear.
- It connects individuals to divine energy and universal truths, fostering unity, love, and compassion among all beings.
- The blue flame embodies purity and healing, encouraging cleansing rituals that promote clarity and emotional restoration.
- It signifies transformation and resilience, inviting personal growth and the shedding of old identities for new beginnings.
- Blue flame serves as protection against negative energy, enhancing spiritual guidance and support from spirit guides during life’s journey.”

“Wakanda will no longer watch from the shadows. We can not. We must not. We will work to be an example of how we, as brothers and sisters on this earth, should treat each other. Now, more than ever, the illusions of division threaten our very existence. We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another, as if we were one single tribe.”
— T’Challa / Black Panther
